            RACE TIME:                           3:00 P.M.

            LOCATION:                           Onancock Harbor

            ENTRANCE FEE:                   $ 10.00 per boat.

            STARTING LINE:                  Beach across from the wharf. (You can drive to this location)

            FINISH LINE:                         Boat ramp at the wharf.

            ADULT PRIZES:                     1st Place: $150.00 Cash                       2nd Place: $75.00 Cash

            YOUTH PRIZES:                    1st Place: $100.00 Cash                       2nd Place: $50.00 Cash

               (16 and under)

 

CONSTRUCTION AND RACE RULES:

 

Boats should be made out of biodegradable paper or cardboard and be low in cost.

 

1.         Any form of paddle(s), oars or other human-powered propulsion. NO electrical or internal combustion.

2.         Paper or cardboard, which may be waxed.

3.         Up to three (3) board feet of lumber may be used per person in the boat. The wood is to be used for framing, stiffening and fastening cardboard.

One (I) board foot is a piece of wood measuring:

1” thick x 12” wide x 12” long, or;

1” thick x 1” wide x 12’ long, or;

Ύ" thick x Ύ“ wide x 21’ 6” long, or;

                                                ½” thick x ½” wide x 48’ long, or;               anyway, you get the idea.

4.         Fasteners may be rope, string, staples, nails, bolts or tape (masking, duct or scotch).

5.             Glue, paint, roofing cement, sealers, etc. must be water based.

6.             NO epoxy of any kind. NO plastic or oil based paint.

7.         Crew must wear life jackets and be in the boat at the finish line.
